Biography

George Chen is a passionate classical violinist and dedicated educator based in Toronto. Known for his expressive playing and solid technical foundation, George brings both artistry and discipline to every performance and lesson.

A First Prize winner in a provincial violin competition at the age of fourteen, George has studied with leading Canadian violinists including Marie Bérard and Joseph Pach. He has participated in masterclasses with distinguished artists such as Jonathan Crow, Annalee Patipatanakoon, Erika Raum, Etsuko Kimura, Atis Bankas, and David Stewart, and has performed for internationally acclaimed musicians including Itzhak Perlman and Barry Shiffman.

As a soloist, George has been invited to perform for numerous communities and organizations, demonstrating both versatility and musical depth. Equally dedicated to teaching, he has guided students with patience and clarity since his high school years, helping them build strong fundamentals and musical confidence.

George earned his Bachelor of Biochemistry degree from the University of Toronto before completing the Violin Performance program at the same institution — a combination that reflects both intellectual rigor and artistic dedication.
